June
So I was browsing blogs, yes including mine, and realized that I hadn't posted since the end of May. June has actually been a really busy month. Mostly good, that I recollect.
First thing about June is that is when June 4th comes. What is June 4th? Well, it is my half-birthday. Yes I recognize Half-Birthdays. I don't know why, but I just always have.
I went to Golden Gate Canyon State Park for the annual University Church of Christ campout last weekend. It was one of those situations where I really had no desire to go up until about 5 minutes before I left, but I ended up having an amazing weekend. That is usually what happens. I whine about not wanting to go and my friends here basically tell me to suck it up and deal. (They don't actually say that, it is just my paraphrase) Pretty much every time I do end up having a blast. I was only planning on going up until Saturday afternoon, but I was convinced to stay both Friday and Saturday night. I did a little hike (or a walk on a path) and posted the two pictures from the top of the hike onto my new Image Gallery on my website. Hopefully there are some decent pics of the weekend that I can get people to e-mail to me. Not having a digital camera is a bummer when you are in the Rocky Mountains. The place is gorgeous. I might have to look into getting one. The pictures I have were taken on my Razr phone. They aren't the best, but I think they are decent enough. There was an instance where, Friday night, our young adult group got yelled at by a disgruntled park ranger. Apparently there is "quiet hour". The conversation was pretty intense at the point of his intrusion also. But I guess it was probably a good thing, made us try to go to bed at a decent hour. I actually was there the next night when another park ranger told the whole church group to be quite because we were singing too loud. Ha Ha. After getting distrupted there, I went back with a group and played some cards. I had forgotten how much fun some of those old games you learn at church camp are. We had a quick service on Sunday morning and then it was time to coast down the mountain and back to civilzation. I literally had my car in neutral most of the way down the mountain. That was pretty cool.
This weekend was a much more relaxing weekend. Did apartment cleaning up, since my parents are coming out this week. Went out tonight to Hacienda Colorado (good mexican food) and then went and watched Nacho Libre. I wasn't really that impressed. I don't know if my sense of humor is changing or what, but I don't know what I was expecting either. The highlight of the movie for me was the Superman Returns trailer in the beginning. I can't wait for that one to come out.
Well it is starting to get late and I could probably use a good night's sleep.
